MALDIVES: THE TROPICAL PARADISE OR THE MAJESTIC ISLAND

Maldives is not just a single island but a group of thousands of tiny coral islands. The natural alluring beauty surrounding this place titled it as a "tropical paradise" and is home to the best beaches in the world. This remote oasis is adorned with the clearest water, palm tree forests beyond magnificent, spectacular view, and snowy white sand. There are over five thousand coral reefs and Ninety nine percent of the Maldives is covered by sea.

The vibrant colors of daytime, corals, sea creatures will capture your heart. At night, Plankton lights up the water and the sea glistens like stars. To enjoy most of it you can go for a long barefoot stroll.

BANANA REEF

Banana reef is one of the oldest reefs comprising majestic cliffs, caves, beautiful corals and is populated by groupers, sharks, barracudas. This place is best for first time novices and divers. And as soon as you lower your head in the sea you will be mesmerized seeing the breathtaking view. Colorful coral bed, fan shaped boulders, school of fish, plethora of anemones decorating the underwater rocks will greet you.

MALE

Male, one of the smallest national capitals of the world. This small city is a must on your itinerary. Male is renowned for its ancient mosques and vibrant colored buildings. You will be welcomed by the heritage buildings, turquoise water, Maldivian history.

• Male Friday Mosque

This mosque was built in 1656, known for its sea culture architecture. It is considered very pious among Maldivian Muslims and is carved with the Quranic script.

• Artificial Beach

You can guess from the name, this is a man-made beach. You can swim here or just lay down and relax your mind and soul. 

• Tsunami Monument

Remember the floods that took place in 2004? This extreme disaster took the lives of many and thus, the Tsunami Monument is made in the memory of those who lost their lives. 

• National Museum

This epitome of knowledge comprises ancient artifacts from the Islamic period. It is a go-to-place for anyone who loves art, craft and history.

• Male Fish Market

This is one of the tourist attractions of Male. Surprisingly, this place is neat and clean with a hygienic environment unlike other fish markets. If you are a seafood lover then, you should indulge in some tuna or any other favourite seafood of yours. 

• Sultan Park

Sultan park is renamed as "Rasrani Bageecha". This place has a two-feet glass tree house that gives a view of the entire park, green tunnel, vertical garden, and double-storey fountain.  

ADVENTUROUS ACTIVITIES

Many adventurous activities can be experienced in the Maldives like Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Surfing, Flyboarding, Scuba Diving, Parasailing, Recreational Fishing, etc.

DIVING IN MALDIVES

There are umpteen diving spots in the Maldives but some highly recommended popular and spectacular ones are Banana Reef, HP Reef (Rainbow Reef),  Fish Head (Mushihasmingli Thila) and Maanta Point. Fish Head is one of the top ten diving sites in the world. Even the night diving option is available but it is not advisable for novices.

ISLAND HOPPING

Maldives has multiple islands, but some popular ones are Alimantha, Mirihi, Kudahuvadhoo, Gan and Hulhule. You can visit these islands by seaplane (if you want to enjoy the view from height), Dhonis (a multipurpose sail vessel), or local boats. Each transportation system has its own beauty. 

VAADHOO ISLAND

Vaadhoo island is named as "Sea of Stars" as the water glows in a beautiful blue color under the moon and the sea reflects in such a way that stars are reflected in the sea and makes the view memorable. This striking sight appears due to the phytoplankton found in the sea. So make sure to go for a stroll at night to capture the breathtaking view.

WHALE SUBMARINE

It is not particularly a stop but, it is an underwater excursion. You will spot Blue or Yellow striped Snappers, Common Lionfish, Yellow Boxfish, Turtles and many more creatures here. If lucky, then you will also be greeted by Whitetip Sharks and Napoleons.
